Homemade Hot Pockets

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sheets pre-made puff pastry cut into rectangles
  • 1/8 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup milk for brushing
  • Pepperoni
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • marinara/pizza sauce

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F
  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Place puff pastry rectangles onto the baking sheet and a layer of pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni (or desired fillings)
  • Place top puff pastry and use a fork to pinch the edges together to seal
  • Combine milk, garlic powder and herbs, and brush onto the top of the pizza pockets.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Alternative fillings:
  • ham and gouda
  • scrambled egg, sausage and cheddar
  • pesto and turkey with mozzarella and sundried tomatoes
  • turkey and havarti cheese
  • spinach, onion and mushroom
  • spinach and sun dried tomatoes
  • Shredded chicken, boiled hashbrown potato squares, frozen peas and carrots, and cream of chicken soup (Chicken Pot Pie)
  • Cooked ground meat of choice or meat alternative, taco seasoning, and your favorite taco toppings. Dip in salsa and/or guacamole. 
  • Cooked shaved steak, roasted peppers and onions, provolone or American cheese
  • Dessert ideas:
  • apple pie filling, top with melted butter and cinnamon surgar
  • peach cobbler filling, top with melted butter and cinnamon sugar
